An Educational Desert

An Educational Desert
only one girls in entire village went to school

In South Sudan, more than 2.8 million children—over 70% of the school-age population—are currently out of school, making South Sudan home to one of the highest rates of out-of-school children in the world.
This lack of access to education is a national crisis, rooted primarily in years of civil war and political instability.
The ongoing conflict has forced families to flee their homes, destroyed critical infrastructure like school buildings, and made it unsafe for children and teachers to attend classes. And even where schools do exist, they often lack basic resources like textbooks, paper, pencils, desks, and trained teachers.

Hope in Jesus
The answer to all of these problems? Hope Encounter believes the answer is Jesus.
I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth. (Psalm 122:1-2 NIV)

It is only through the love, hope, and reconciliation of hearts through Jesus Christ that South Sudan will ever find peace and prosperity.
One Christian School – One Chrisitan Church
Please pray for us as we continue in our quest to make Jesus known in South Sudan by planting one Christian school and one Christian Church in every village.
Through our schools and our Churches, we see the promise of a better tomorrow for the people of South Sudan.
Where there is Jesus, there is hope!
